Happy New Year!

Last week was “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” but what are your favorite 2008 memories?

LG~ Can’t say ’08 was one of the better ones overall, but I have fond memories of moving into this house (however temporary), an enjoyable “end of the school year” Luau, some cherished moments with friends, watching my daughter’s color guard performances, lost teeth, chorus and band concerts, and those scattered but incredible mommy moments that make the not so good times totally worthwhile.

T~ My favorite memory was spending the summer at the pool with the children and having the opportunity to host our exchange students.  Also, the whole pumpkin carving afternoon was a blast.

What is the best thing you learned in 2008?

LG~ That I’m tougher than I think, emotionally, and indeed, that which does not kill us makes us stronger (but not always better.)

T~ How I think things are can differ greatly from other people’s perspective.

On a scale of 1-10, how good was your 2008?

            LG~ 4, give or take a number

T~ 6, it had its moments

What is your wish for 2009?  What is your wish for someone else for 2009?

LG~ My wish for myself is the same as I wish for everyone… finding that inner balance between what’s best for self and what’s best for the larger whole, then experiencing that reality in harmony.

T~ My wish is to be settled.  I wish for someone else to find what they are looking for.

Where was the first place you ever passionately kissed?

LG~ In the back of a movie theatre, Ocala, FL circa 1982; even now I can’t watch “Trading Places” without smiling.

T~ (smile, blush) In a car…

Bonus:  Do you make New Year’s Resolutions?  What is/are yours for 2009?

LG~ Usually, yes; but I’ve been distracted so far this season, so I’m working on them…  They will be something in line with my “wish” stated above.

T~ Yes, I make them occasionally, but I rarely end up sticking to them.  So this year I’d say I want to “get healthy.”  I’m not going to say “loose weight,” but I really want to find myself healthier this year.

Sharing our opinions on December 9, 2008

Do you consider sexy under things a present for you or your partner?

LG~ That would depend on what I thought when I first spotted it…  “Pretty… I like that!” or “OMG, I know someone who would love me to wear this!”

T~ For both.  They make me feel good, but I’m not the one looking at them.

What are three characteristics of “your type?”  Have your best relationship(s) been with your type or when you have gone against it?

LG~ My type?  Never really thought I had a type.  Isn’t that why we’re poly so we can experience lots of types?  I think there are some characteristics (both physical and mental) that I find myself drawn to, but exploring the gray matter is so much more rewarding.  Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses.

T~ oh, I’m so not going there this week…

What is on your Santa list this year?

LG~ This year, I’ll be happy if Santa fills the kid’s lists.  Have I mentioned how much I think the economy sucks?

T~ I want to go to the beach, and perhaps an HP Touch Smart.

Generally speaking, who has historically had a higher libido, you or your partner(s)?

LG~ They say they do.  But I’m of the opinion the brain is the largest sex organ we have, and properly stimulated…

            T~ Me.

The unsculptured female bush seems to have passed from fashion.  What about men, do you think they need to trim and shave “down there?”

LG~ IMO, its all preference.  Comfort, convenience, and the interests of my partners is what drives those choices – for men and women.

T~ If it looks like the Amazon jungle, then yea, but au natural usually works for me.

Bonus:  What are a few of your favorite things (both sexual and non-sexual)?

LG~ Ocean vistas, fall leaves, crisp autumn mornings, fresh morning snow, warm bubble baths, the sound of my children laughing, tiny baby toes, and the feeling of soft carpet under my feet.  Sexually speaking, it’s a feeling of being totally driven by the hunger deep inside and getting lost in the moment.

Prop 8: The Musical

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Last week I ran across an article on MTV website about Marc Shaiman and his spoof video on Prop 8.  Temptress has tried for days to get the streaming video to play here, but it isn’t going to happen anytime soon, so I’m just going to give you the links, and advise you if you’re easily offended by religious satire not to bother.  But Shaiman makes a good point, and with his all star cast, the video has some punch behind it.

Exposing our insides on December 2, 2008

What are your turn-ons?

LG~ Strong arms, eyes that see my soul, and a discerning mind with a glimmer of maturity.

T~ Rain, strong hands, and having my back rubbed.

What are your turn-offs?

LG~ Sophomoric humor, crudity, and inappropriate remarks.

            T~ Smoking and prickly faces.

Not counting your turn-ons, what’s the best trait a person can have?

LG~ Integrity with a healthy dose of tolerance.

            T~ Integrity.

Not counting your turn-offs, what’s the worst trait a person can have?

            LG~ Victim mentality.

            T~ Lack of integrity.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

LG~ I have to choose one?  Big says I have millions.

T~ Not being heard, but it’s more complicated than that.  You know when you have a conversation with someone, and you say something, answer a question, voice a concern?  And then at a later time another conversation insues and you have to repeat that information to the same person who already heard it?  That peeves me, it is like I never was heard to begin with, like my words have no meaning.

Bonus:  Describe your best and worst experience.

LG~ I think those topics are too personal to share in cyber space, but I can tell you the measuring stick I used for those experiences – it was how I felt after it was over.  Exhilarated and fulfilled; or drained and devastated?

            T~ “Ditto”
